Education refers to the process by which people acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, beliefs and behaviors. Educational methods include classroom teaching, formal instruction, teaching and study, learning and development, guided observation, interactive learning and guided investigation. Education also includes a wide range of other non-educational activities such as the dissemination of information, sharing of ideas, community activities, sports, games, recreational activities, artistic activities and social services, community involvement, sportsmanship, health care and nutrition, and many other activities. In general, education is defined as the acquisition of information, skills, beliefs and practices, by people, that helps them to understand and use the world around them, in order to achieve a goal or to enhance their quality of life.
In an educational environment, children are given the opportunity to develop and grow. The first step in this process is to introduce children to the basic concepts of science and math, in order for them to become independent. This process is called pre-algebra, and the second step is algebra, when students have mastered these two concepts. These classes teach the students to identify objects and relationships between different objects; this is known as first grade. Other subjects include art, music, physical education, reading, writing, computer literacy, science, English, history, geography, foreign language, home and family studies, social studies, history, social work, geography and biology.
Education has different areas, such as physical education, learning disability, language arts, psychology, education for adults, early childhood education and special needs education. The school system should implement its policies on the establishment of equal opportunities for all children to develop the skills and knowledge they need for the future. All children in the public education system should be encouraged to learn and practice the ABC’s of education; this is the basis for their growth, development and socialization in a well-rounded community. Education also involves the development of the educational system that includes parents, teachers, communities, parents and children, parents, teachers and schools.
